Aircraft Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Land in UK Because of Fracture in Cockpit Window
A jet ferrying the US defense secretary was forced to make an unplanned landing in the Britain on Wednesday after a crack was found in the aircraft's cockpit window, according to an announcement which stated that all passengers were secure.
"The aircraft landed following established safety measures and everyone onboard, among them Defense Secretary Hegseth, is secure," an official representative said in a social media post.
He was traveling back from a quick journey to the Belgian capital at the time.
This incident is not the first occasion that a United States armed forces jet ferrying a high-ranking official has suffered equipment failures.
Months ago, a United States Air Force aircraft ferrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was compelled to return to the US capital after suffering a technical issue.
