Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Fatal Car Crash

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities announced on Wednesday night. The athlete was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

Joshua had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, his management team had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.

“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.

A Tribute to the Fallen

Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two close friends.”

This update on his health follows the global fight fans offered its support for the fighter in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
