Helicopter Spirals Uncontrollably into Palm Trees at Popular California Coast
An aircraft hovering above a popular California coastline suddenly began spiraling uncontrollably, eventually dropping height and plunging into a row of palm fronds as onlookers observed.
Videos posted on social media capture the chopper commencing to spiral near Huntington Beach then falling near the perimeter of the coast, where it ends up lodged among palms and a staircase adjacent to the Pacific Coast highway.
Emergency Response Information
Emergency responders said five persons were transported to a medical facility comprising two who were in the chopper and were “extracted safely from the crash site” after the incident on Saturday.
Three individuals on the street were hurt. Information on their condition were not immediately available.
The cause of the crash was still under investigation.
