The Prince of Wales is scheduled to attend the COP30 climate summit in Brazil during November, as confirmed by royal officials.

Prince William and King Charles appeared together on Thursday evening at a gathering leading up to the climate summit, which is scheduled to take place in the northern Brazilian city of Belem.

The King and Prince were in attendance at the scientific institution event, marking an unusual joint appearance at a environmental conference preliminary meeting arranged together with the UK government.

Climate Leadership Dedication

King Charles has been a long-time champion of environmental conservation - and Prince William has inherited the mission, with his own climate innovation awards, which will be held in Brazil preceding the COP summit.

Royal sources have portrayed the Prince's participation at the next COP as stepping up an important role in "environmental negotiations".

Previous Activities

The King and Prince of Wales, making a joint entrance in the state Bentley, were welcomed guests including environmentalists, scientists, climate change campaigners, foreign representatives and politicians.

This involvement included speaking together with President Emmanuel Macron of France and other international figures at the Ocean Finance Summit in Monaco earlier this year.

Environmental Prize Connection

The climate conference will dovetail with the William's personal climate innovation prizes, which will finish in Rio de Janeiro the day before he attends the COP summit on the sixth of November.

Recently the royal figure characterized the award contenders as "heroes of our time".

Royal Climate Legacy

The King has been a key figure at previous climate summits, providing the introductory remarks in the United Arab Emirates for COP28, including the observation: "The Earth does not belong to us, we belong to the Earth".

"I have spent a substantial portion of my life trying to alert people to the existential threats confronting humanity over global warming, environmental shifts and ecological decline," the monarch informed participants.
