Vinicius Jr Extends Apology to Real Madrid Fans
The attacker has registered five goals in 10 Spanish league appearances during the current campaign.
The Madrid giants forward Vinicius Jr has said sorry to fans for his reaction when substituted in Sunday's heated El Clasico victory.
The Brazilian was replaced in the second half and displayed his annoyance by going straight down the tunnel.
Vinicius subsequently came back to the dugout and, following his club's narrow triumph, sought to engage Barça's opposing player during unsavoury final whistle exchanges.
"Now I want to say sorry to all the Real Madrid fans for my behavior when I was substituted in the big match," he wrote on his account.
"In the same way as I have already done during today's session, I wish to apologise again to my team-mates, the team, and the club president.
"At times passion overcomes me because I constantly desire to succeed and support my team. My competitive character originates in the affection I feel for this club and each thing it stands for."
He joined Real from Brazil in the year 2018 for a significant fee and has notched 111 goals in 335 appearances.
But his prospects in the La Liga is far from certain with speculation in recent months stating that Real would contemplate permitting the young star move on if they got a suitable offer.
When Vinicius was replaced on the match day, cameras from coverage provider the service recorded him saying: "Again me! I'm leaving the team! It's better if I leave, I'm going."
In his latest statement on X, he commented: "I vow to keep battling at all times for the good of Los Blancos, as I have performed since the very beginning."
